Being selected as Cheyenne County Young Miss 2026 is something I am truly grateful for and will always cherish.

Young Miss week taught me confidence, leadership, and the importance of representing my community with pride. It was also a blessing to meet so many amazing people and step outside of my comfort zone!

To Cheyenne County Young Miss 2027: be yourself, stay present, and enjoy every moment, because it goes by fast. I wish the greatest of luck to all participants!

John grew up in McDonald, Kansas and graduated from Cheylin High School before attending Kansas State University.

He has remained involved in the Cheyenne County community and is honored to support the Young Miss program.

Becky Wright

Becky Wright is a southwest Kansas native. Served in the dental field for 38 years and now resides in Scott City, KS with her husband Steven. Together they own and operate a trucking company. They have 5 grown children with spouses and 13 grandchildren. Becky’s hobbies include seeing family, cooking and decorating. She is excited to be a part of the Cheyenne County Young Miss competition.

Margaret Miller

Margaret Miller of Colby is a Rawlins County native who graduated from Atwood High School in 2003. She earned her degree in education from Hastings College in Hastings, Neb., and has taught public school in Colby; Lumberton, N.C.; and Denver, Colo. She is married to Bryan Miller, who teaches PE at Colby Grade School. The couple homeschool their four children, Sawyer, 13, Clara, 11, Madsen, 9, and Bowen, 7, and they are involved in the many activities of their homeschool group. Margaret enjoys baking, reading, hosting family and friends, and being in nature. Having been named Rawlins County Junior Miss in 2002, she is excited to be part of the Junior Miss Program again.

Lesley Marshall

Lesley is an elementary educator entering her tenth year of teaching sixth grade at Dundy County Stratton. Originally from Bloomington, Indiana, Lesley attended Indiana University before finding her calling in the classroom — where she has spent the past decade nurturing young minds and cheering on her students every step of the way.At home, Lesley is blessed with a wonderful family. She and her husband, Andrew, have been married for eleven years and are the proud parents of a seven-year- old daughter, Olivia. Outside of school, she enjoys reading, baking, and running. She is thrilled to serve as a judge for this year's Young Miss pageant and looks forward to celebrating each contestant's hard work.

Katie Conley

Katie was born and raised in Bloomington, Indiana, and graduated from Indiana University. Shortly after college, she relocated to Denver, Colorado, to begin her career in the oil and gas industry. In 2014, she met her future husband, a resident of Bird City, Kansas, and in 2016 she moved there to build their life together and start a family. Katie and her husband welcomed two daughters before deciding to return to Denver in 2022. She currently works as a Landman for Bison Oil & Gas, LLC, where she continues to build her career in the energy sector. In her free time, Katie enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends.

Judge

Jenna Brubaker

Jenna was born and raised in St. Francis and is proud to call Cheyenne County home. She graduated high school in 2017 and went on to attend Fort Hays State University where she earned both a degree in Elementary Education and a Bachelors of the Arts in vocal performance. During her time at Fort Hays, Jenna performed in numerous musical productions, with her favorite roles being Marian Paroo in The Music Man and Cherubino in The Marriage of Figaro. In addition to her involvement in music and theater, she served as chapter president of Alpha Sigma Alpha, Panhellenic Council treasurer, and managed an online Etsy business throughout college. Following graduation, Jenna remained in Hays for three years, where she worked as an elementary music teacher and served as the children’s ministry coordinator at her church. She and her husband recently returned to Bird City, where she is enjoying life at home with their son, Harrison. Jenna is excited to be back in the community and looks forward to becoming increasingly involved throughout the county.

Mandie Boone

Mandie is entering her third year as chairman of Cheyenne County Young Miss. This program has had a special place in her heart since she was crowned Cheyenne County Young Miss 2009.

Mandie is a successful business owner, mother of two, Karsen and Owen, wife to Jared, daughter, and friend. The sacrifice she makes each year to support the contestants of Cheyenne County Young Miss is not something she takes lightly, and we are very grateful for her.

Mandie and her team would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all the fantastic people who make this program possible. Mandie feels so blessed to live in such a kind and generous community that gives through time, meals, donations, and support.

To the next Cheyenne County Young Miss, I hope you find the experience as fulfilling and rewarding as I did. I wish you the best of luck!
